DESCRIPTION:The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will hold a webinar on December 18\, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 pm ET to discuss “What are the Benefits of International Cooperation in Space?” \nParticipants are: \n\nBrent Blevins\, Staff Director\, House Science\, Space\, and Technology Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics\nAleksandra Bukala\, Director\, Strategy and International Cooperation\, Polish Space Agency\nRamzi Masri-Elyafaoui\, Government Affairs Manager\, Axiom Space\nClayton Swope\, Deputy Director\, Aerospace Security Project\, CSIS (moderator)\n\nMore information is on the event’s website\, which says: \nFifty nations have signed the U.S.-led Artemis Accords\, a set of non-binding principles on norms of behaviors for the peaceful use of outer space\, with a focus on the Moon. The Accords are related to the Artemis Program\, an effort led by NASA to return astronauts to the Moon and establish a long-term lunar presence. Both of these initiatives are just the most prominent examples of how the United States and other partners are collaborating on space science and exploration. This event will explore the future of peaceful international cooperation in space\, discussing trends\, opportunities\, and challenges on the horizon.
