Obama Reelected, Senate to Remain in Democratic Hands
Multiple news sources are reporting that President Obama has won reelection and the Senate will remain under Democratic control.
Republican candidate Mitt Romney has not conceded at this hour, but the major news networks and other news sources have declared President Obama the winner with a commanding number of electoral college votes.
As for the Senate, Democrats picked up seats in Massachusetts, Indiana and Maine according to news sources (the winning candidate in Maine, Angus King, is an independent, but is expected to caucus with Democrats), so even if Republicans win in states where counting it still underway, Democrats will hold on to the majority in Congress.
The results mean a continuation of the status quo, with Democrats in control of the White House and Senate, and Republicans in control of the House.
