Professional societies, grass-roots public interest groups and others are part of the supporting structure of the aerospace profession and the space science disciplines (astrophysics, heliophysics, planetary exploration, and earth sciences). We also provide a link to information about Eilene Galloway (1906-2009), who was instrumental in helping Congress write the 1958 National Aeronautics and Space Act as a specialist at the Legislative Reference Service (later the Congressional Research Service) and was one of the leading experts on space policy and space law from the beginning of the Space Age until her passing in 2009.
