NASA PANEL ON APOLLO 17’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY, Dec 16, 2022, Houston TX, 12:00 pm ET

NASA will host a panel discussion on December 16, 2022 at 12:00 pm ET from Space Center Houston near Johnson Space Center to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the last lunar Apollo mission, Apollo 17.

December 16 is the anniversary of the day that the three-person crew — Gene Cernan (Commander), Ron Evans (Command Module Pilot), and Harrison “Jack” Schmitt (Lunar Module Pilot) — left lunar orbit for the trip back to Earth. Cernan and Schmitt had spent about three days on the lunar surface (December 11-14). The crew splashed down in the Pacific on December 19.
