Update, May 30, 12:15 pm ET: Axiom now says splashdown is “approximately at 11:00 pm ET” instead of 11:09 pm ET. Axiom and SpaceX coverage begins “about an hour ahead of splashdown.”
Original Entry: The Axiom-2 private astronaut mission will undock from the International Space Station on May 30, 2023 at 11:05 am ET and splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico near Florida at 11:09 pm ET. The exact location will be chosen based on weather.
The four-person crew will be aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon Freedom.
NASA TV will cover hatch closing and undocking on May 30. Coverage begins at 9:00 am ET for an approximately 9:10 am ET hatch closing. NASA TV coverage will resume at 10:45 am ET for the approximately 11:05 am ET undocking and continue for about 30 minutes until Crew Dragon clears the ISS keep-out zone.
Axiom Space and SpaceX will provide splashdown coverage beginning about one hour before the 11:09 pm splashdown time on their website. More information is on Axiom’s website.
