HOUSE CONSIDERATION OF THE FAA REAUTHORIZATION BILL, July 19-20, 2023, DC
Event Navigation
The House is scheduled to take up the FAA Reauthorization bill — the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act (H.R. 3935) — on July 19 and July 20, 2023 subject to a rule.
The Rules Committee meets on July 17 at 4:00 pm ET in H-313 Capitol to write the rule for the bill’s consideration. The bill incorporates H.R. 3935 as reported from the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the FAA Research and Development Act, H.R. 3559, as reported from the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, and H.R. 3796 regarding taxes for the Airport and Airway Trust fund as reported from the House Ways and Means Committee.
A few provisions in this bill relate to commercial space activities overseen by the FAA’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation, but most of those topics are expected to be addressed later in separate commercial space legislation.
