Original Entry: NASA, SpaceX and Northrop Grumman will hold a pre-launch briefing for Northrop Grumman’s NG-20 Cygnus cargo launch to the International Space Station planned for January 29, 2024.
This is the first Cygnus launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9. Ordinarily Northrop Grumman uses its own Antares rocket and launches from Wallops Island, VA, but it is awaiting a new version of the rocket that does not use parts from Ukraine and Russia. Northrop Grumman has purchased three Falcon 9 launches in the interim.
Participants in the January 26 briefing are:
- Dina Contella, operations integration manager, NASA’s International Space Station Program
- Meghan Everett, deputy program scientist, NASA’s International Space Station Program
- William Gerstenmaier, vice president, Build and Flight Reliability, SpaceX
- Cyrus Dhalla, vice president and general manager, tactical space systems, Northrop Grumman
- Arlena Moses, launch weather officer, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s 45th Weather Squadron
