ANOTHER DATE CHANGE

SENATE COMMERCE CMTE EXECUTIVE SESSION, Feb 12, 2026, DC, 10:00 am ET

UPDATE, February 11:  The date has changed again. Now it’s tomorrow, February 12, at 10:00 am ET in the usual Senate hearing room (253 Russell) so should be webcast.

UPDATE, February 10: It is now posted on the committee’s website as a “date change” to the February 3rd markup. The location is S-207 Capitol, the Mansfield Room. The committee tells SpacePolicyOnline.com it will NOT be livestreamed because it’s in the Capitol, not one of the Senate office buildings (which are properly equipped).

Original Entry: The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will meet in Executive Session on February 11, 2026 at 2:00  pm ET in S-216 in the U.S. Capitol to consider several bills including reconsideration of S. 3639, to expedite the processing of satellite and space licenses by the FCC, and  S. 1898, the ORBITS Act.  The committee began consideration of those and other bills on February 3, but a quorum was not present for votes. Ranking Member Maria Cantwell (D-WA) wanted to amend S. 3639, but Chairman Ted Cruz (R-TX), sponsor of the bill, did not agree so a vote was required.

The meeting is not posted on the committee’s website as of February 8, but is on two congressional websites that track scheduled meetings: the Senate Press Gallery and Congress.gov.
