NASA Bfg to Preview Upcoming Spacewalk, Jan 2017, JSC

NASA will hold a press briefing at Johnson Space Center in Houston,TX on January 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm ET (1:00 pm local time) to preview two upcoming spacewalks to update the International Space Station’s power system.  The spacewalks are on January 6 and 13, 2017.   NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Peggy Whitson will make the January 6 spacewalk; Kimbrough and ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet will be the spacewalkers on January 13.

Participants in the January 4 briefing are:

• Kenneth Todd, ISS Operations Integration Manager
• Jud Frieling, flight director for the Jan. 6 spacewalk
• Gary Horlacher, flight director for the Jan. 13 spacewalk
• Troy McCracken, lead battery replacement robotics officers
• Kieth Johnson, lead spacewalk officer

The briefing will be broadcast on NASA TV.
