Original Entry: NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) Earth Science Division (ESD) will hold a virtual meeting with the science community on February 24, 2026 from 2:00-3:00 pm ET to “communicate the scope, purpose, and value of changes to the division’s portfolio and processes, including efforts to streamline Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) to reduce the burden on proposers and shorten selection timelines.”

Earth Science Faster to Science Community Briefing Tuesday, February 24

NASA’s Earth Science Division invites the community to a virtual Faster to Science briefing, 2:00-3:00 pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Through the briefing, ESD leadership will communicate the scope, purpose, and value of changes to the division’s portfolio and processes, including efforts to streamline Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) to reduce the burden on proposers and shorten selection timelines.

NASA is making these changes to:

• maximize scientific discovery,
• deliver more comprehensive modeling capability, and
• deliver higher-impact and higher-value scientific results faster to our user community.

There will be a Q&A period following the formal presentation by division leadership. Moderated questions will be accepted during the briefing via WebEx.
