GSOA and the International Telecommunications Union would like to invite you to join a special virtual panel to discuss the policy and regulatory issues prompted by Direct-to-Device (D2D) and Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) satellite projects.

The proliferation of D2D projects promises to add new tools to bridge the digital divide in remote and rural areas and a new capability to bolster critical services such as education, emergency responses around the world. But blending satellite and terrestrial systems presents a diverse set of regulatory, licensing, spectrum and policy questions that national decision makers are facing now.

Our special joint ITU & GSOA panel will take place virtually, and will aim to unpack the regulatory and policy issues that will need to be rethought in order for innovative satellite D2D technologies to fulfill the promise of transforming mobile connectivity. The panel will feature national regulators and global thought-leaders in a conversational format.
