Justin Tilman is the Director for Civil Space Business Development at Loft Orbital, a commercial spaceflight company headquartered in San Francisco, California with a satellite processing facility in Golden, Colorado. Loft flies government, academia and commercial customer science, technology, AI and hardware payloads on its fleet of LEO satellites.Justin recently retired from a 25-year career at NASA, most recently as Deputy Director for International Science.
During his career, Justin supported all of NASA’s mission directorates and centers, including assignments at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo and the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. He has a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in political science and Asian studies from Phillips University. Justin lives in Falls Church with his family.
