MEETING CANCELLED, BUT VIRTUAL PRESS CONF REMAIN

AMERICAN ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY 2022 WINTER MEETING, Jan 9-13, 2022

Update, January 5, 2022:  The AAS press office just sent an email saying that even though the meeting is cancelled, the press conferences will take place virtually January 10-13.

“Next week, 10-13 January, roughly 40 speakers will present timely and exciting research results and new developments in the astronomical sciences.”

No registration is required.  They will be livestreamed on the AAS Press Office YouTube channel.

The schedule, with topics and speakers, is posted on the AAS website.  Note that times on the agenda are in MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME (add 2 for Eastern).

Update:  The AAS has cancelled this 239th meeting in its entirety (in-person and virtual) because of the spread of the omicron COVID-19 variant.  Usually the AAS’s winter meeting is its main meeting of the year, but it will adjust the schedule for the 240th meeting, scheduled for June 12-16, 2022 in Pasadena, CA, to be the main meeting of 2022.

Original Entry: The 239th American Astronautical Society (AAS) meeting — its 2022 “winter meeting” — will take place January 9-13, 2022 at the Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah.

More information is on the AAS website.
