ARTEMIS I MISSION OVERVIEW BFG, Aug 3, 2022, virtual, 11:00 am ET

NASA will hold two media briefings to preview the first launch of the Space Launch System and Orion spacecraft, an uncrewed test flight designated Artemis I, currently targeted for as early as August 29.

The first, a mission overview, is on August 3, 2022 at 11:00 am ET.  It will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, the agency’s website.

Participants are:

  • NASA Administrator Bill Nelson
  • Bhavya Lal, associate administrator for technology, policy, and strategy, NASA Headquarters
  • Mike Sarafin, Artemis I mission manager, NASA Headquarters
  • Charlie Blackwell-Thompson, Artemis I launch director, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida
  • John Honeycutt, Space Launch System program manager, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama
  • Howard Hu, Orion program manager, NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston
