Ax-3 PRELAUNCH BRIEFING, Jan 11, 2024, virtual, 11:00 am ET

Axiom Space will hold a virtual pre-launch briefing on January 11, 2024 at 11:00 am ET for the launch of Ax-3 to the International Space Station. The launch is targeted for January 17 at 5:11 pm ET.

This is Axiom’s third private astronaut mission to the ISS  If they launch on schedule, they will dock at the ISS on January 19 at 5:15 am ET.

Participants are the four crew members. This is a private astronaut flight, but in this case all three passengers are military pilots from the governments of Italy, Türkiye, and Sweden. The commander, Michael López-Alegría, is a former NASA astronaut who now works for Axiom. Axiom is calling this the first “all European” commercial astronaut mission because his nationality is both American and Spanish (he was born in Madrid).

  • Michael López-Alegría, Ax-3 Commander, Axiom Space, U.S. and Spain

  • Walter Villadei, Ax-3 Pilot, Italy

  • Alper Gezeravcı, Ax-3 Mission Specialist, Türkiye

  • Marcus Wandt, Ax-3 Mission Specialist, ESA/Sweden

Axiom’s press release doesn’t indicate if it will be livestreamed.
