BLUE ORIGIN NS-20 SPACEFLIGHT, Mar 31, 2022, West Texas, 9:20 am ET

Update, March 28:  The flight has been postponed again, due to high winds. It is now scheduled for March 31 at 9:20 am ET (8:20 am local time) with the webcast beginning an hour earlier (8:20 am ET).

Update, March 21:  Blue Origin announced that its own Gary Lai will replace Davidson on the flight. Lai is New Shepard’s Chief Architect.

So the passenger list is:

  • George Nield, President, Commercial Spaceflight Associates, LLC (former FAA Associate Administrator for Commercial Space Transportation)
  • Gary Lai, Blue Origin
  • Marty Allen, turnaround CEO and angel investor
  • Sharon and Marc Hagel (Sharon is founder SpacekidsGlobal, Marc is CEO of Tricor International)
  • Jim Kitchen, teacher, entrepreneur, and world explorer

Update, March 17:  The launch date has slipped to March 29 and Pete Davidson can’t make it. Blue Origin will announce a replacement in coming days.

Original Entry: Blue Origin will launch the next passenger flight of its New Shepard rocket, NS-20, on March 23, 2022 from its launch facility near Van Horn in West Texas. Liftoff is scheduled for 8:30 am Central Time (9:30 am ET) and will be broadcast live on the company’s website beginning 60 minutes before launch.  [It is common for these launches to be delayed by days, hours or minutes due to weather or other issues.]
