CHANGE OF COMMAND CEREMONY FOR U.S. SPACE COMMAND AND NORTHERN COMMAND/NORAD, Aug 20, 2020, Peterson AFB, CO, 12:00-4:00 pm ET (webcast)

A change of command ceremony will take place at Peterson Air Force Base, CO on August 20, 2020 from 12:00-4:00 pm ET for U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) and U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM)/North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

Gen. James Dickinson (U.S. Army) will become commander of USSPACECOM, succeeding Gen. Jay Raymond, who is currently dual-hatted as U.S. Space Force Chief of Space Operations and will remain in that position.

Gen. Glen Van Herck (USAF) will become commander of NORTHCOM and NORAD, succeeding Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, who is retiring after 34 years of service.
