CHINA’S CHANG’E-6 LUNAR SAMPLE RETURN MISSION RETURNS TO EARTH, June 25, 2024, China, 1:41-2:11 am EDT
Event Navigation
The sample return capsule from China’s Chang’e-6 spacecraft is expected to land in China on June 25, 2024 between 05:41 and 06:11 UTC (1:41-2:11 am EDT). This is the first time any country will have brought back samples from the Moon’s far side, which always faces away from Earth. All previous samples returned by China and the Soviet Union robotically, and by the United States with the six Apollo crews, were from the near side.
