CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW (CES), Jan 5-8, 2022, Las Vegas/virtual

The 2022 Consumer Electronics Show, CES, will take place in a hybrid format from Janyary 5-8, 2022. The in-person sessions are in Las Vegas.
The week-long conference is not focused on space topics, but at least three sessions are, all on Thursday.
- 10:00-10:30 am Pacific Time (1:00-1:30 pm Eastern): Great Minds: The Future of Space Exploration. The owners of Sierra Nevada Corporation, Fatih and Eren Ozmen, will talk about “their incredible journey and how their newest company Sierra Space is building a global space economy that benefits humanity.” (Sierra Space is building Dream Chaser, which has contracts with NASA already to take cargo to the International Space Station and plans to use it to send people to orbit as well. It is also teamed with Blue Origin to build the Orbital Reef commercial space station.)
- 1:00-1:40 pm Pacific (4:00-4:40 pm Eastern): The Future of Healthcare Driven by Spaceflight. “The Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) develops and tests biomedical technologies so that humans can maintain their health and performance in orbit. Find out how technologies like AR, Extended Reality, and biosensors are being put to exciting and innovative use to effectively diagnose and treat medical needs in space.” Speakers are Rachna Dhamija, CEO, Ejenta, and Emmanuel Urquieta, CMO, TRISH.
- 2:00-2:40 pm Pacific (5:00-5:40 pm Eastern): The Promise of Satellite Communications. “Although low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites are not a new technology, the field has experienced renewed growth with both startups and established companies investing in this space. Find out how they are using satellites to make life better here on Earth.” Speakers are Doug Johnson, VP, Technology Policy, Consumer Electronic Association; Mounir Alafrangy, Commercial Innovation Manager and Technology Lead, ISS National Lab; Tess Hatch, Partner, BVP.
