Space News Senior Staff Writer Jeff Foust will interview Rep. George Whitesides (D-CA), Vice Ranking Member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, during a webinar on June 10, 2025 from 3:30-4:00 pm ET.
Whitesides is a freshman Congressman from a district near the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center, and Edwards Air Force Base. Whitesides was Executive Director of the National Space Society from 2004-2008. He worked on the 2008 Obama presidential transition and was NASA Chief of Staff for the first two years that Charlie Bolden was NASA Administrator. He then spent 10 years as CEO of Virgin Galactic.
