CREW-2 DOCKING AND ARRIVAL CEREMONY AT ISS, Apr 24, 2021, Earth orbit, 5:10 am/7:15 am/7:45 am ET

Update, April 21:  The launch has been delayed one day to April 23 because of downrange weather.  If launch takes place on April 23, docking will occur on April 24 and the updated times for these events on April 24 are:

  • Docking, 5:10 am ET
  • Hatch Opening, 7:15 am ET
  • Welcome Ceremony, 7:45 am ET

Participants in the welcome ceremony from the ground will be:

  • Steve Jurczyk, acting NASA administrator
  • Kathy Lueders, associate administrator, Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters
  • Hiroshi Yamakawa, president, JAXA
  • Josef Aschbacher, director general, ESA

Original Entry: SpaceX’s Crew-2 mission is scheduled for launch on April 22 at 6:11 am ET.  If the launch takes place as planned, it will arrive at the International Space Station (ISS) on April 23, with the following events at these approximate times:

  • Docking, 5:30 am ET
  • Hatch Opening, 7:35 am ET
  • Welcome Ceremony, 8:05 am ET

In addition to the ISS crew, participants in the welcome ceremony from the ground are:

  • Kathy Lueders, associate administrator, Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters
  • Hiroshi Yamakawa, president, JAXA
  • Josef Aschbacher, director general, ESA

Prelaunch activities, launch, and docking will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.  NASA TV begins at 2:00 am ET on April 22 and runs continuously through the welcome ceremony on April 23.
