The finale of Deep Space Food Challenge will take place on August 16, 2024 at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus, OH.

A day-long symposium is planned, ending with a ceremony where NASA will award up to $1.5 million to teams working to develop sustainable food for long-duration space travel including to the Moon and Mars. This is the finale of a 3-year competition started by NASA and the Canadian Space Agency.

The awards ceremony will be livestreamed on NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s YouTube channel and NASA Prize’s Facebook page.

More information is in NASA’s press release, which says the “Methuselah Foundation, NASA’s partner in the Deep Space Food Challenge, is hosting the event in coordination with the Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and NASA Centennial Challenges.”

As of August 4, neither NASA’s press release nor the symposium’s website states the time for the symposium overall or the awards ceremony.
