DEPARTURE OF CYGNUS FROM ISS, Feb 8, 2019, Earth orbit, 11:10 am ET (NASA TV begins 10:45 am ET)

NASA will broadcast the departure of Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft from the International Space Station (ISS) on February 8, 2019 beginning at 10:45 am ET.  Cygnus will be released at about 11:10 am ET.  Watch on  NASA TV and the agency’s NASA Live website.

Cygnus will remain in orbit for another 2 weeks carrying out various experiments, deploying two cubesats at a higher altitude than ISS, and then a third cubesat, Kicksat-2, at a lower altitude. Kicksat-2 carries 100 tiny satellite calles femtosatellites.

Filled with 5,000 pounds of trash, Cygnus will then reenter and burn up in the atmosphere on February 25.
