April 22, 2017 is Earth Day, its 47th year. The Earth Day Network organizes activities around the globe to raise environmental awareness. Earth Day stems in part from the iconic “Blue Marble” image of Earth taken by Apollo astronauts from the Moon.
Details of the history of Earth Day and activities planned this year are on its website. The March for Science is taking place in conjunction with Earth Day this year.
