EARTH DAY (50th anniversary), Apr 22, 2020, virtual

Earth Day, celebrated annually since 1970 on April 22, will be a digital event this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Earth Day Network organizes activities around the globe to raise environmental awareness.  Earth Day stems in part from the iconic images of Earth taken by the Apollo astronauts.

The Earth Day website provides information on events around the world.

NASA is engaged in a number of online activities counting down to Earth Day and on the day itself will answer questions via Twitter.
