Earth Day, celebrated annually since 1970 on April 22, will be a digital event this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Earth Day Network organizes activities around the globe to raise environmental awareness. Earth Day stems in part from the iconic images of Earth taken by the Apollo astronauts.
