ESA & NASA RELEASE FIRST IMAGES FROM SOLAR ORBITER, July 16, 2020, virtual, 8:00 am ET

The European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA will release the first images taken by the ESA/NASA Solar Orbiter mission during a virtual press conference on July 16, 2020 at 8:00 am ET.
Solar Orbiter made its first close pass of the Sun in mid-June, turning all 10 of instruments for the first time and obtaining the closest images ever seen of the Sun.
The briefing will be livestreamed on NASA’s website.

- José Luis Pellón Bailón – Solar Orbiter Deputy Spacecraft Operations Manager at ESA

- Sami Solanki – Principal investigator of the Polarimetric and Helioseismic Imager (PHI) and director of the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research
- Christopher J. Owen – Principal investigator of the Solar Wind Analyser (SWA) at Mullard Space Science Laboratory, University College London
