ESTABLISHING INFRASTRUCTURE IN SPACE (BEI), July 11, 2025, virtual, 1:00-2:30 pm ET

The Beyond Earth Institute (BEI) will hold a webinar on July 11, 2025 from 1:00-2:30 pm ET on “You’re Gonna Need Juice for That: Establishing Infrastructure in Space.”

No mission in space is possible without power and propulsion. This will be no less true in a future where humans are living and thriving in large-scale space habitats. Although spacecraft have historically been sent to space with all of the fuel required for the life of their mission, we are entering an era where it will be possible to fuel spacecraft with propellants that are sourced from in-space materials, such as regolith on the lunar surface or purified metals from defunct spacecraft. As manufacturing and construction in space also come into practice, resources harvested in space could also serve as raw material for in-space infrastructure such as solar panel stations and launch pads on the Moon and Mars.

Join the Beyond Earth Institute for a discussion with some of the innovators who are advancing humanity’s capabilities in supplying and utilizing resources in space, and how these technologies will enable the building out of in-space infrastructure, from staging fuel depots in orbit to building launch pads on the Moon and Mars and beyond.
