EUROPA CLIPPER PRE-LAUNCH SCIENCE TELECONFERENCE (NASA), Oct 13, 2024, 9:30 am ET

Update, October 12, 9:45 pm ET: NASA has issued a new press release with updated information.  The science teleconference will be at 9:30 am ET on October 13 with the same participants.

Update, October 12: 5:35 pm ET:  NASA just emailed that today’s briefings are moving to tomorrow “for now.”

Update, October 11:  NASA is targeting Sunday, October 13, for the Europa Clipper launch and sent out a media advisory with new times for the pre-launch briefing (Oct 12, 3:30 pm ET), science briefing (Oct 12, 4:45 pm ET) and post-launch briefing (Oct 13, 12:30 pm ET), but all of these times are tentative as of 2:00 pm October 11.

Participants in the science teleconference are:

• Robert Pappalardo, project scientist, Europa Clipper, NASA JPL
• Haje Korth, deputy project scientist, Europa Clipper, Applied Physics Laboratory

Update, October 6:  The launch has been postponed, and the associated pre-launch events as well, because of Hurricane Milton.

Original Entry: NASA will hold a science briefing in advance of the scheduled launch of the Europa Clipper mission on October 10, 2024 (see our separate entry for launch information).

The science briefing at Kennedy Space Center will be on October 8 at 3:30 pm ET and wil stream live on NASA+ and the agency’s website.
