GO FOR LAUNCH: SHAPING THE NEXT SPACE ECONOMY (Politico), July 30, 2024, DC/virtual, 8:30 am ET

Politico will hold an event on July 30, 2024 starting at 8:30 am ET at the Royal Sonesta Capitol Hill, 20 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Washington, DC entitled “Go for Launch: Shaping the Next Space Economy.”

More information and a registration link are on the event’s website, which says:

“Space might still sound like a frontier, but the space economy is already woven into our lives in ways we don’t always appreciate, creating a global backbone for communications, media, data, science and defense. It’s also becoming an increasingly competitive zone among nations – and a venue for complex and important public-private partnerships. In this event, POLITICO will convene a conversation about what Washington needs to understand is at stake – which sectors of the global economy see their growth arc in space, and what the role of government leaders is in both growing and regulating the explosion of orbital ideas.”

Speakers include:

  • Bill Nelson, NASA Administrator
  • Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-CO), member of the Senate Commerce Committee’s Space and Science Subcommittee
  • Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS), Ranking Member, Senate Appropriations Commerce-Justice-Science Subcommittee
  • Meghan Allen, Senior Vice President of Washington Operations, Space Foundation
  • Kelvin Coleman, Associate Administrator for Commercial Space Transportation, FAA
  • Richard DalBello, Director, Office of Space Commerce, NOAA
  • Tom Stroup, President, Satellite Industry Association

A virtual option is available.
