HOUSE APPROPS CJS SBCMT HEARING ON NOAA’S ROLE IN PROVIDING CLIMATE SERVICES, Apr 15, 2021, virtual, 10:00 am ET

The Commerce-Justice-Science (CJS) subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee will hold a hearing on April 15, 2021 at 10:00 am ET on “Increasing Risks of Climate Change and NOAA’s Role in Providing Climate Services.”

The hearing will take place virtually via WebEx and will be webcast on the committee’s website.

Witnesses are:

Dr. Steven Volz, Assistant Administrator, NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS), performing the duties of Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction

Ms. Nicole R. LeBoeuf, Acting Assistant Administrator, National Ocean Service

Volz heads NESDIS, the part of NOAA that operates the nation’s weather satellites, but it is not clear how much of this hearing will touch on satellite issues.
