House Rules Cmte Meets on Natl Def Approps, July 2017, DC

The House Rules Committee will meet on July 24, 2017 at 5:00 pm ET and on July 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm in H-313 Capitol to write a rule for consideration of what is being referred to as the FY2018 Make America Secure appropriations bill.   It is a combination of the four of the 12 regular FY2018 appropriations bills:

• Defense, H.R. 3219
• Military Construction/Veterans Affairs (MilCon/VA), H.R. 2998
• Energy and Water, H.R. 3266
• Legislative Branch, H.R. 3162)

The first three fund activities related to national defense; the fourth funds Congress and its operations.

The Rules Committee is using H.. 3219 as the bill number for the combined bill.  These meetings usually are webcast on the committee’s website.
