INTERNATIONAL GNSS DAY, Oct 23, 2024, global
Event Navigation
The Institute of Navigation (ION) has declared October 23 as International GNSS Day, celebrating Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) that provide position, navigation and timing data.
The U.S. Global Positioning System, GPS, is perhaps the best known of these systems, but other countries have developed similar capabilities. Collectively they are called GNSS.
According to the ION they chose October 23 as International GNSS Day because “the date 10.23 mirrors the foundational GPS frequency of 10.23 MHz, a number that resonates as the original heartbeat of GPS satellites, signals, and receivers.”
More information is on the ION website.
