INTERNATIONAL MOON DAY, July 20, 2023, global

On December 9, 2021, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed July 20 as International Moon Day to commemorate the first human landing on the Moon by U.S. astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on July 20, 1969.
The theme in 2023 is “Beginning the New Lunar Journey for Humanity.”
Events are organized around the world. The International Moon Day website keeps track of them.
Each year one is designated as the “Main Event.” In 2023, the Main Event is taking place in Gwancheon, South Korea at the Korea National Science Museum at 8:00 pm local time (1:00 pm Central European Summer Time/7:00 am Eastern Daylight Time).
