INTERNATIONAL MOON DAY, July 20, 2025, global

In 2021, the United Nations designated July 20 as International Moon Day to mark the anniversary of the first human landing on the Moon — Apollo 11 on July 20, 1969.  Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the surface while Mike Collins orbited overhead in the Command Module.

Events take place globally.  The Moon Village Association’s website provides more information.
