ISS SPACEWALK 5 TO REPLACE BATTERIES, Jan 20, 2020, Earth orbit
Event Navigation
NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir are resuming the series of spacewalks to replace batteries on the outside of the International Space Station (ISS).
The fifth and last is on January 20, 2020. NASA TV coverage begins at 5:30 am ET. The spacewalk is scheduled to start at 6:50 am ET.
Five battery-replacement spacewalks were planned and three were conducted in October 2019. The last of those three also paired Koch and Meir and was the first all-female spacewalk in history. Those two astronauts are scheduled to perform the fourth in this series on January 15. This will be the last.
NASA astronaut Drew Morgan and ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano are conducting a series of unrelated spacewalks to repair the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS), a cosmic particle detector mounted to the exterior of ISS. Their next one is on January 25.
