The next International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Plenipotentiary conference will take place November 9-17, 2026 in Doha, Qatar. More information is on the event’s website.
The “Plenipot” takes place every 4 years to, among other things, elect the Secretary-General of the ITU. Doreen Bogdan-Martin (U.S.) is the current Secretary-General and is seeking reelection.
The ITU’s World Radio Conferences (WRCs), which take place every 3-4 years, are separate from the Plenipot. The next WRC, WRC-27, is scheduled for next year in Shanghai, China from October 18-November 12, 2027.
