SpaceIL of Israel plans to land its robotic spacecraft, Beresheet, on the Moon on April 11, 2019. It entered orbit on April 4.
SpaceIL is a non-profit organization so this will be the first non-government spacecraft to land on the Moon or any other celestial body.
It will land at Mare Serenitatis.
Update, April 8, 6:15 pm ET: The SpaceIL website now has a countdown clock showing the time to landing, which puts it at about 4:00 pm ET April 11.
The organization tweeted on April 8 that it will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook and the links will be provided later.
