LAUNCH OF CHINA’S WENTIAN SPACE STATION MODULE, July 24, 2022?, Hainan Island, China

Update, July 14:  Unofficial China space watchers now expect the module to launch at 02:22 EDT on July 24.

Original Entry: China will launch the second and third modules of the China Space Station (also called Tiangong 3) in 2022. They will join the Tianhe core module lauched in 2021.

China has officially said that the second module, Wentian, will launch in July 2022, but not the exact date. Unofficial China space watchers think it will launch around July 23.

China has said the third and final module, Mengtian, will launch in October.

The space station modules are launched by China’s biggest rocket, Long March 5B, from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center on Hainan Island.
