Update, October 9: The launch has been delayed one day due to bad weather.
Original Entry: NASA will launch the Ionospheric Connection Explorer (ICON) on October 9, 2019 from Kennedy Space Center, FL. The 90 minute launch window opens at 9:25 pm ET. NASA TV/NASA Live coverage begins at 9:15 pm ET.
The launch window is 90 minutes long.
ICON will be air-launched on a Northrop Grumman Pegasus rocket from the L-1011 Stargazer aircraft. The launch window opens at 9:25 pm ET, but NASA expects Pegasus to be dropped from the aircraft at 9:30 pm ET. The aircraft itself is scheduled to take off from KSC’s skid strip at 8:30 pm ET.
A pre-launch press conference is scheduled for the day before (October 8).
