LAUNCH OF PROGRESS MS-24 CARGO MISSION TO ISS, Aug 22, 2023, Kazakhstan, 9:08 pm ET
Event Navigation
Russia will launch the Progress MS-24 cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station at 9:08 pm August 22, 2023 EDT from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan (where it will be August 23). NASA refers to this as Progress 85 because it is the 85th Progress spacecraft to resupply the ISS (dozens resupplied Soviet/Russian space stations starting in the 1970s until the ISS was built with Russia joining a partnership with the United States, Europe, Japan and Canada).
NASA TV coverage of the launch begins at 8:45 pm ET.
Docking at the ISS is scheduled about two days later on August 24 at 11:50 pm ET. NASA TV coverage of docking begins at 11:00 pm ET on NASA TV’s Media Channel (not the Public Channel, be sure to choose the correct one) and NASA Live. [NASA TV’s Public Channel will be covering the launch of Crew-7 to the ISS, which begins on August 24 at 11:45 pm ET for the launch at 3:49 am August 25.]
