UPDATE

LAUNCH OF SHENZHOU-19 TO TIANGONG-3, Oct 29, 2024, Jiuquan, China, 4:27 pm ET

Update, October 29:  China has finally confirmed that the launch is indeed on October 30 at 4:27 am Beijing Time, which is today, October 29, 4:27 pm EDT, as Andrew Jones reported yesterday.

Update, October 28:  China still hasn’t made an official announcement, but reporter Andrew Jones, who closely follows China’s space program from Finland, says the launch will be tomorrow, October 29, 16:27 ET (October 30, 4:27 am local time in China — he has a typo in his post on X).

Original Entry: China will soon launch its next crew, Shenzhou-19, to the Tiangong-3 space station.

As usual China has not announced the date/time other that to say it will be late October.  One source expects it around October 29 so that is the tentative date used here.

The names of the crew members typically are not announced until the day before launch. They will replace the Shenzhou-18 crew which has been aboard since April.
