MEDIA BRIEFINGS RE SPACEX/NASA CREW DRAGON DEMO-2 MISSION TO ISS, May 1, 2020, JSC/virtual, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm EDT

NASA and SpaceX will hold a series of media briefings on May 1, 2020 from Johnson Space Center, TX to discuss the upcoming launch of SpaceX’s “Demo-2” test flight of Crew Dragon, the first flight with a crew.
This test flight, scheduled for May 27, will be the first launch of astronauts from American soil since the space shuttle was terminated in 2011.
The May 1 briefings will take place at Johnson Space Center, but all media will participate remotely because of the coronavirus pandemic. The briefings will air on NASA TV and/or NASA Live. They are in four parts (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):
11 a.m. EDT– Commercial Crew and International Space Station overview news conference with the following participants:
- NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine
- Kathy Lueders, program manager, Commercial Crew Program, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center
- Kirk Shireman, program manager, International Space Station Program, NASA’s Johnson Space Center
- Gwynne Shotwell, president and chief operating officer, SpaceX
12:30 p.m. EDT – Mission Overview news conference with the following participants:
- Steve Stich, deputy manager, Commercial Crew Program, NASA’s Johnson Space Center
- Zeb Scoville, NASA Demo-2 flight director, Flight Operations Directorate, NASA’s Johnson Space Center
- Benji Reed, director of crew mission management, SpaceX
2 p.m. EDT – Crew news conference with the following participants:
- Astronaut Robert Behnken, joint operations commander, NASA’s SpaceX Demo-2 mission
- Astronaut Douglas Hurley, spacecraft commander, NASA’s SpaceX Demo-2 mission
3:30 p.m. EDT – Round-Robin interviews with the crew members:
- Behnken and Hurley will be available for a limited number of remote interviews. The NASA TV schedule says the live interviews with Spacecraft Commander Hurley will air from 3:40-4:50 pm ET and with Joint Operations Commander Behnken from 5:25-6:05 pm ET)
