Event Navigation
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will begin the mid-term review for the 2021 Decadal Survey on Pathways to Discovery in Astronomy and Astrophysics on November 18-20, 2026 with a hybrid meeting. The in-person meeting is at the National Academy of Sciences building, 2101 Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, DC.
Check the Space Studies Board’s website for up to date information. Some sessions will be open and some will be closed.
Every 10 years (a decade), expert community-based committees under the guidance of the Academies prepare consensus-based Decadal Surveys to set priorities for each of NASA’s five science disciplines: astrophysics, biological and physical sciences, earth science, heliophysics (solar and space physics), and planetary science. By law (the 2005 NASA authorization act), half-way through each decadal period, a separate committee assesses the progress NASA is making in executing the Decadal Survey — the mid-term review.
