NASA/AXIOM MEDIA TELECON ON UPCOMING AXIOM-2 MISSION TO ISS, Apr 6, 2023, virtual, 12:00 pm ET

NASA experts will join an Axiom Space media teleconference on April 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm ET to provide an update on the Axiom-2 private astronaut mission to the International Space Station.

Four private astronauts — Peggy Whitson (a retired record-setting NASA astronaut who now works for Axiom), John Shoffner (a race car driver), and two from Saudi Arabia, Ali Alqarni and Rayyanah Barnawi — will launch in early May on a SpaceX Crew Dragon and spend 10 days on ISS. This is Axiom’s second private astronaut flight to ISS. The first was in 2022.

Participants in the media telecon are:

• Angela Hart, Commercial Low-Earth Orbit Development Program manager, NASA
• Michael Suffredini, CEO and president, Axiom Space
• Peggy Whitson, Ax-2 commander, Axiom Space
• Mishaal Ashemimry, microgravity research lead, Saudi Space Agency
• Sarah Walker, director of Dragon Mission Management, SpaceX

The Axiom telecon is via Zoom. It is not clear from the NASA press release if NASA will air it on NASA Live or NASA TV.
