NASA ISS SPACEWALK 98 (3rd of 3), Aug 25, 2026, Earth orbit, 8:35 am ET (NASA coverage begins 7:00 am ET)

Update, August 20: NASA astronaut Anil Menon and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot conducted Spacewalk 97 on Tuesday, August 18, to replace a space-to-ground antenna.

Stubborn bolts slowed the work and they were not able to complete the task so they will go out again on spacewalk 98 on August 25 to finish that work and begin work on replacing a retroreflector. The spacewalk is expected to begin at 8:35 am ET and last about 6.5 hours. Coverage on NASA’s YouTube channel starts at 7:00 am ET.

NASA is planning an additional spacewalk for September 1 if additional time is needed to replace the retroreflector or complete other tasks. NASA will decide after the space-to-ground antenna is installed.

Original Entry: NASA astronauts will conduct three spacewalks in August 2026, numbers 96, 97, and 98.  NASA’s press release provides information about what the astronauts will do.

As of July 31, NASA has officially announced the spacewalk crew members only for spacewalk 96 (Jessica Meir and Anil Menon), but during a NASA briefing on July 30, Jessica Meir and ESA’s Sophie Adenot were identified in a video as the crew members for spacewalk 98.
