NASA MEDIA BRIEFING ON ICON, June 4, 2018, Goddard Space Flight Center, MD, 1:00 pm ET (webcast)

NASA will hold a media briefing at 1:00 pm ET on June 4, 2018 to preview the launch of the Ionospheric Connection Explorer (ICON), which is scheduled for launch on June 14.

The briefing will be held at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and aired on NASA TV and the agency’s website.  Participants are:

• Willis Jenkins, ICON program executive at NASA Headquarters, Washington
• Thomas Immel, mission principal investigator at the University of California Berkeley’s Space Sciences Laboratory
• Rebecca Bishop, ionospheric research scientist at Aerospace Corporation
• Douglas Rowland, mission scientist at Goddard

ICON will be launched on an Orbital ATK Pegasus rocket that is air-launched from its Stargazer aircraft.  In this case, Stargazer will take off from the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
