NASA MEDIA BRIEFING ON INSIGHT MISSION TO MARS, Mar 29, 2018, JPL, Pasadena, CA, 5:00 pm ET (webcast)

NASA will hold a media briefing on the next robotic mission to Mars, the Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport (InSight) on March 29, 2018 at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. The briefing, at 5:00 pm ET (2:00 pm local time at JPL), will air live on NASA TV and on NASA’s website (nasa.gov/nasalive).
InSight is scheduled for launch on May 5, 2018, a two-year delay because of problems that occurred with one of the instruments that is being provided by the French space agency, CNES. Spacecraft can only be launched to Mars every 26 months when Earth and Mars are properly aligned in their orbits.
Participants in the March 29 briefing are:
· Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington
· Bruce Banerdt, InSight principal investigator at JPL
· Tom Hoffman, InSight project manager at JPL
· Jaime Singer, InSight instrument deployment lead at JPL
