NASA will hold a media telecon on September 10, 2025 at 11:00 am ET to discuss analysis of a rock sample collected by the Mars Perseverance rover last year called Sapphire Canyon. It was collected in July 2024 from a set of rocky outcrops on the edges of Neretva Vallis, a river valley carved by water rushing into Jezero Crater long ago and is the subject of a forthcoming scientific paper.
