NASA will hold a media telecon on June 7, 2022 at 11:00 am ET (10:00 am Central) to discuss “research about intense summer thunderstorms over the central United States and their effects on Earth’s atmosphere and climate change.”
“NASA and university scientists are studying thunderstorms for the second year in row as part of the Dynamics and Chemistry of the Summer Stratosphere (DCOTSS) mission.” The mission’s base of operations is the Salina Regional Airport in Salina, KS.
Participants in the media telecon are:
- Kate Calvin, NASA chief scientist and senior climate advisor at NASA Headquarters in Washington
- Ken Bowman, DCOTSS principal investigator and professor of atmospheric science, Texas A&M University
NASA’s press release does not indicate if the telecon will air on NASA Live as these telecons usually do and it is not listed on the NASA Live schedule as of June 5.
