Event Navigation
NASA just announced late this morning that it will hold a media teleconference at 4:30 pm ET this afternoon to “discuss a new study exploring potential commercial space opportunities for NASA science missions.” It will air on NASA Live.
It has an interesting set of participants — the head of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, the head of NASA’s Space Operations Mission Director, the project manager for NASA’s iconic Hubble Space Telescope, a SpaceX Vice President, and billionaire Jared Isaacman who commanded and paid for the first completely private astronaut mission to orbit — Inspiration4 — last year and is planning at least three flights more under his “Polaris Dawn” brand.
- Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator, NASA’s Science Mission Directorate
- Kathy Lueders, associate administrator, NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate
- Jessica Jensen, vice president, customer operations and integration, SpaceX
- Jared Isaacman, commercial astronaut and commander of Polaris Dawn
- Patrick Crouse, Hubble Space Telescope project manager, NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center
